Siemens Mobility Family convinces with unique portfolio in London
Transport Ticketing Global 2020:
Siemens Mobility together with HaCon and eos.uptrade were again part of the Transport Ticketing Global 2020 in London as a sponsor and exhibitor. The international trade fair is the world’s largest meeting for the public transport sector and focuses on the development of smart ticketing, the integration of passenger information programmes and the networking of cities. Under the motto ‘Shaping connected mobility’, Siemens Mobility and its subsidiaries invited conference participants to learn more about current topics such as Mobility as a Service, XiXo - from Check-in/Check-out (CiCo) to Be-in/Be-out (BiBo), Mobile Ticketing, Intermodal Trip Planning, Traveller Relationship Management, Mobility Data Analytics or Demand-Responsive Transport.
Presentations by Mathias Hueske and Geert Vanbeveren
The supporting programme was underpinned by the presentation of Mathias Hueske, Managing Director at eos.uptrade, on the topic "Experiences with the introduction of Next Gen Ticketing - XiXo". Hueske explained Check-in/Check-out (CiCo), Check-in/be-out (CiBO) and Be-in/Be-out (BiBo) ticketing and gave current developments, technical background and insights into user experience. He also explained why the use of beacons is nowadays a cost-effective, long-term and practical solution. Further, he shared important lessons and recommendations for the implementation of CiBo and BiBo systems.
Geert Vanbeveren, Sales Director at Siemens Mobility, also shed light on some topics of future relevance in his presentation ‘App based mobility: Open the treasure chest of your mobility data’. Authorities and public transport operators today have a wealth of data at their disposal, but there is little overview or awareness of it. In his presentation, he showed which data sources are available and how targeted data analysis can provide wide-ranging insights. This includes identifying patterns of mobility behaviour, determining demand forecasts and their impact on transport operations, and enriching mobility services for travellers.
