Salzburg simplifies ticket purchase with XIXO from eos.uptrade: check in and travel at the best price
The public test phase of the Salzburg Transport 2GO app proved to be a positive experience.
Hamburg, May 25th 2023. In mid-April, the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund started a new era of ticket purchasing with the check-in/assisted check-out app Salzburg Verkehr 2GO by eos.uptrade. With the new app, passengers can check in at the start of a public transport journey with a simple swipe over their smartphone display and directly receive a valid ticket for all public transport in the state of Salzburg. Once you've reached your destination, it's just as easy to check out again. If you forget to check out, the app automatically reminds you. Various sensor data is used to calculate all the routes traveled, and the lowest total fare is determined on a weekly basis. Not only one-way tickets are taken into account, but also hourly, daily and weekly rates. The calculated travel costs are automatically debited from the stored means of payment. Since the start of the test phase, Salzburg Transport 2GO has been well received by passengers and is developing into an attractive alternative to traditional ticket purchasing.
"Flexible, innovative and economical - the new app is a real asset for public transport in Salzburg. With the simple application, you can spontaneously use the public transport without having to worry about fares or ticket purchases. This is ideal for occasional riders and all those who do not yet use a Klimaticket Salzburg," explains Landesrat Stefan Schnöll.

"The best price calculation works on a daily and weekly basis. Thus, occasional drivers can easily use public transport and be sure that the lowest price is calculated. The Salzburg Verkehr 2GO app from eos.uptrade has a direct connection to the eos.ticketshop, making it particularly convenient for passengers to use. Existing customers do not need to register and enter payment methods again. HAFAS.tariff from Hacon is used for correct price calculation.
