After the successful introduction of the online shop, Wiener Linien’s product portfolio has been expanded. Students no longer have to get their student tickets via the customer centre, but can conveniently order and print them from home after an online check against the university database. In Vienna, 18 universities and colleges are currently connected. The online shop student ticket is currently used by approximately 18,000 people.
Since September 2011, tickets can also be conveniently bought using your mobile phone. Furthermore, it is also possible to display print tickets bought from the online shop on your mobile phone. This function has been available for the iPhone (iOS) as well as for smartphones using the Android operating systems since mid-January 2012. Tourists or business travellers can also book the CAT (City-Airport-Train) or ÖBB tickets, for transfer to and from the airport.
An online ticket shop was set up for Wiener Linien in 2007. Customers can purchase tickets either as a distribution ticket, or as a print ticket for printing at home. It thereby became possible, among other things, to acquire tickets to the European Football Championships punctually and independently of time and place. Tourists or business travellers can also book the CAT (City-Airport-Train) or ÖBB tickets, for transfer to and from the airport.
